A life well-lived is made up of the people you love, the memories you create, and the bonds you share. After all the food is eaten, the dress is sold off, and the babies are born, grown, and gone, what will you have left?

With a blend of the photojournalistic, the fresh, the timeless, and the passionate--infused into every pixel--we’re creating not only beautiful art, but daily reminders of how abundant and rich in love and beauty your life is.

I am thrilled at the prospect of bottling those memories into photographs with you!

I'm a spirited soul living life wholeheartedly with the greatest man alive. I have to tell you about this man, because without him my photography would not be possible. Jared is my support, my encouragement, my sweetheart--not to mention the awards he's won as Best Listener, Best Holder, and Best Giggle-Inducer.
It is because of you, Jared, that I wake up grinning and gleeful.

Brooke:
Currently residing in: Provo, Utah
Hopes to: teach music in an inner city school and be a wife, mother, grandmother and woman for a very long time.
Doesn't: wear socks, follow recipes, or believe in margarine.
Loves: gospel music; rose gold; the unexpected; spontaneity; gourmet food; letterpress anything; orchids, dahlias, and peonies; kissing the gorgeous husband.
Believes in: the inherent goodness of people; the creative capacity of humans; love; God, Jesus Christ, and that His gospel is on the earth today in its perfection.

I find refuge in libraries, bookstores, and buying journals and pens. Thick, inky ones.
I'm a music fanatic, but I never listen to it on the radio.
Reading and writing enchant me; I'm inspired by Natalie Goldberg, Elizabeth Gilbert, Anne Fadiman, John Steinbeck, and e.e. cummings, to name a few. You can most often find me reading non fiction: I'm a sucker for research about music and social interactions, how-tos and (my favorite!) personal essays and memoirs.

Sometimes I just know I'm a 95 year old in a twentysomething body.

Creativity is the oxygen in my life.
I want to photograph you.

How I got started:
{Cue dramatic music here} It all began when I started as a photography editor* for a photographer when I was 17. After assisting on shoots and editing for a couple years, I was shocked to discover that I loved photography--it definitely wasn't something I planned on adoring. Photography was first something I could get lost doing for hours-- and I still hang on to that photography-as-play philosophy. It's just plain fun.

*So yes, I do come at photography from an editor's perspective and I know the power of editing to make a photo great. However, I have strong opinions about editing from my study of women in advertising and all the ridiculousness that's happening in that realm, so I need you to know: I am not going to recreate that crap, because it's fake, and stupid. No "body sculpting" for us. You are breathtaking just as you are. Deal?
The purpose of editing is to maximize reality--what would this picture look like if it was taken in the best light, on your best day? It is not to create yet another illusion for people to chase. WHEW. Off my soapbox there. Glad we got that out of the way!
